Overview
Master Files define the supplier's foundational product structure. They contain the hotel, room, and rate definitions that describe how the commercial offer is organized and under which conditions it can be sold.
This group is the backbone of a Rules File integration. Without accurate master data, pricing files cannot be interpreted correctly.

How these files work togetherβ
The standard logic is:
- the hotel is defined in the Hotels file
- rates are defined in the Rates file, each linked to a hotel through
hotelCode - room types are defined in the Rooms file, each linked to a rate through
rateCode - pricing and restrictions are then loaded into the rate and room combination (see Pricing Files)
This creates a clear and consistent relationship between catalog structure and commercial conditions.
Hotels File
The Hotels file creates the basic master profiles for the properties in your portfolio. It is the basic catalog that identifies each property and the core information needed to publish and distribute it in the Travelgate marketplace.
Rates File
The Rates file defines the rules under which rooms will be sold. It defines the commercial configuration of each rate plan: booking conditions, cancellation policies, and surcharges.
Rooms File
The Rooms file maps the physical inventory to your Rates. It describes the room types available for sale under each rate, and its occupancies field determines which occupancy combinations are accepted for each product.
